WIRELESS SECURITY TESTING: Know what your wireless network lets through.

Wireless security testing examines how devices join your networks, how connections are protected and what becomes reachable afterwards. We assess the separation between corporate, guest and connected-device access, looking for weaknesses that could let an unauthorised device or user reach systems beyond the intended boundary.

Assessment

Connecting and gaining access are different questions.

Strong wireless authentication is valuable, but it does not establish that a connected device has the right reach. Guest networks, device onboarding and management interfaces can each create routes into systems that should remain separate.

Common triggers

opening or moving a site; changing wireless authentication; adding guest or connected-device networks; reviewing separation after an infrastructure change.

Look at the network from both sides of the connection.

Joining the network

Authentication, relevant encryption settings and how access is issued and removed.

Device onboarding

The assumptions made when employee, guest or device connections are approved.

Network separation

The services and destinations reachable from each agreed wireless network.

Management access

Exposure and protection of the interfaces used to administer the wireless environment.

Unapproved access points

Relevant checks for access points or network behaviour outside the intended design.

The location and operating conditions belong in the scope.

We agree the sites, networks, equipment and permitted techniques before testing. Active methods that could affect connections need explicit operating arrangements. The assessment records the configuration examined, access achieved and separation observed, with corrective guidance for the network owners.

What you receive

A record of the sites and wireless networks examined.

Evidence of relevant authentication, management or separation weaknesses.

Practical configuration and access changes for the affected networks.

Frequently asked questions
Does testing require a site visit?

Some wireless checks require suitable proximity to the network. The location, access arrangements and any remotely reviewable configuration are established during scoping.

Will testing interrupt users?

Some active techniques can disrupt connections. We select methods and test windows around how the network is used, explain the potential effects and establish when a test must stop.

Does this include Bluetooth or other radio technologies?

Only if specifically agreed and supported. A wireless LAN assessment does not automatically cover every wireless protocol or connected device.

Next step

Start with the networks and sites you need to examine.

Tell us how employees, guests and connected devices use wireless access, and what you need those networks to keep separate.
