WEB APPLICATION SECURITY TESTING: Test the actions your application was never meant to allow.

Web application security testing examines whether someone can misuse your website or web platform to access information or perform actions they should not. We test identity, permissions, data handling and important workflows, including the ways legitimate features can be combined or used outside their intended purpose.

A working feature can still enforce the wrong boundary.

An application may behave correctly for ordinary users while allowing a different account to retrieve a record, change a restricted setting or bypass a step in a transaction. Testing needs to account for those relationships, including the roles and organisations your application is meant to keep separate.

Common triggers

  • A launch introduces accounts, payments, sensitive data or administrative functions.
  • New roles, tenants or integrations change who can reach what.
  • A customer requests an independent application assessment.

Follow the user journey beyond the interface.

Accounts and sessions

Sign-in, recovery, session handling and the controls protecting important account changes.

Permissions and tenant separation

Whether users can view records or perform functions beyond their role or organisation.

Sensitive workflows

The sequence of actions behind approvals, purchases, invitations and other business-critical operations.

Input and output handling

How data is accepted, processed and displayed, including relevant injection and browser-side risks.

Supporting interfaces

API calls, file handling and integrations required to examine the agreed application journeys.

Representative access makes the assessment more useful.

We define the application version, user roles and important journeys with you. Test accounts and a suitable environment help us explore behaviour that an external-only review cannot see. Findings identify the affected feature, the conditions needed to reproduce the issue and the change needed to address it. We can support corrective work and verify agreed changes.

What you receive

A tested-role and feature summary showing the journeys included.

Reproducible findings with the permissions and data at issue.

Corrective guidance for the relevant application components.

Frequently asked questions
Is this only a scan against the OWASP Top 10?

No. Common risk categories are useful reference points, but the assessment must also follow your application's permissions, workflows and data handling. Those details determine what needs investigation.

Are APIs included?

Relevant API calls can form part of a web application assessment. A wider API review, including other consumers and endpoints, should be scoped explicitly.

Will you need the source code?

Runtime testing can be carried out without it. A source code review adds a different view of implementation details and can be included where it would help answer the assessment's questions.

Next step

Bring the application and the journeys that matter.

Share its purpose, user roles, current development stage and any customer requirements. We will discuss the appropriate testing scope.
