VIRTUAL CISO: Keep security priorities coherent as the business moves.

A virtual CISO provides ongoing security leadership across business priorities, technology decisions and delivery. Subdux helps set direction, guide investment and oversee programme progress, connecting customer requirements and operational risks with decisions your leaders need to make and work the organisation can realistically carry out.

Leadership for the decisions between specialist services.

A penetration test, policy programme or new security tool can address a defined need. Someone still needs to decide how the work fits together, what deserves funding and who is responsible for the result. The vCISO role provides that continuity across leadership, technology teams and external providers.

A growing set of obligations

Customer reviews and contractual requirements are expanding faster than your security planning.

Activity without a shared direction

Several teams or providers contribute, but priorities and decisions are fragmented.

A leadership gap

You need experienced security guidance on an ongoing basis or through a period of change.

Establish priorities the organisation can deliver.

Risk and direction

Identify material concerns, important commitments and the business changes the programme needs to support.

Roadmap and investment

Sequence work according to consequence, dependencies, available capacity and cost. Make the reasoning behind priorities clear.

Ownership and oversight

Establish who can make decisions, who delivers the work and how progress or obstacles are reviewed.

Leadership reporting

Present significant risk, progress and unresolved choices in terms that help executives decide.

External demands

Coordinate security input for customer assurance, supplier questions and audit preparation where these sit within the role.

A leadership role with a practical connection to delivery.

We work with business and technology leaders to review existing commitments, establish priorities and keep progress under review. The role can include implementation oversight or responsibility for defined delivery work. Where the programme needs testing, monitoring or other specialist services, we make those dependencies and resources visible in the plan.

What you receive

A prioritised security roadmap; a maintained view of important risks and decisions; defined owners and review dates; concise leadership updates; and programme documents appropriate to the work agreed.

Frequently asked questions
Do we need a security team already?

No. The role can help an organisation establish how security will be led and delivered. If there is already a team, we can support its leadership, planning or coordination needs. The scope should reflect the capability available.

Is vCISO a substitute for a full-time CISO?

It can provide leadership without immediately creating a full-time role, but suitability depends on the size, complexity and obligations of the organisation. Some environments need a dedicated internal executive or a formally appointed officer with specific duties.

Can Subdux implement the programme as well?

Yes. We can take responsibility for defined implementation work as well as leadership and oversight. The delivery plan sets out the people, specialist services and technical work needed to carry it through.
