HIPAA SECURITY & READINESS: Follow protected health information beyond the main application.
HIPAA security readiness examines risks to electronic protected health information across clinical systems, support processes, integrations and service providers. We help covered entities and business associates assess administrative, physical and technical safeguards, then address operational gaps and organise the records needed to demonstrate how those safeguards work.

The risk analysis needs to reflect where ePHI actually goes.
Protecting the primary platform leaves unanswered questions if records are also exported, handled through support channels or stored by another provider. A Security Rule risk analysis needs to account for all the ePHI your organisation creates, receives, maintains or transmits. We map that wider picture and make clear whether the work is an organisation-wide analysis or a focused review contributing to it.
Role and information flows
Establish the services involved, covered entity or business associate context and the systems that create, receive, maintain or transmit ePHI.
Security risk analysis
Identify potential threats and vulnerabilities, review existing measures and assess risks to the confidentiality, integrity and availability of ePHI.
Safeguards and operations
Review access, workforce practices, physical handling, audit information, contingency arrangements and supplier responsibilities within scope.
Risk management and evidence
Prioritise treatment, support changes and organise records that explain decisions, assigned responsibilities and follow-through.
Turn the analysis into action across the environment.
We combine discussions with relevant teams, documentation and agreed technical reviews. Risks are linked to the information and services affected, then assigned actions that account for implementation and care-delivery constraints. Procedures for incidents, recovery and significant changes are reviewed alongside preventative safeguards.

Do you provide HIPAA certification?
HHS does not endorse private certifications as proof of Security Rule compliance. Our work supports assessment, risk management and implementation; it does not replace your organisation's obligations.
Is this relevant to a software or outsourcing provider?
It may be where your services involve handling PHI for a covered entity or another business associate. The role, service relationship and information handled need to be established first.
Does the engagement cover every HIPAA requirement?
The agreed scope specifies the rules and activities being reviewed. Security Rule work focuses on ePHI safeguards; Privacy and Breach Notification obligations require the relevant operational and legal consideration as well.
Which services rely on you to protect health information?
Tell us about your role, the information you handle and the systems or customer requirements prompting the review.
