PCI DSS READINESS: Understand the payment environment you are responsible for.

PCI DSS readiness establishes which payment systems and supporting services are in scope, then addresses gaps against the applicable requirements. We help trace cardholder data, assess controls, support remediation and prepare evidence for the appropriate validation route, based on your payment activities and acceptance obligations.

Outsourcing payments changes responsibilities. It does not answer every question.

A hosted payment page, payment integration or external provider can reduce what your organisation handles directly. Your website, administration access and provider relationships may still affect the payment environment. We examine the actual setup before assuming which requirements or questionnaire apply.

Payment flows and boundaries

Map payment channels, data flows, relevant systems, connections and service providers; identify where scope needs clarification.

Access and system protection

Review applicable controls for access, configuration, data protection, network separation and administration.

Monitoring and security activities

Assess relevant logging, vulnerability management, testing and incident arrangements, including e-commerce dependencies where applicable.

Validation preparation

Organise evidence and remediation around the applicable requirements and the validation route established with the relevant accepting entity or assessor.

Resolve scope assumptions before completing the forms.

We review payment architecture and provider responsibilities, assess gaps and help implement agreed changes. Segmentation or design changes may reduce scope where they genuinely isolate the environment and satisfy the applicable requirements. We prepare the evidence needed to explain the resulting environment, including limitations and requirements still outstanding.

Frequently asked questions
Does using a payment provider remove PCI DSS obligations?

Not automatically. Your role and integration determine what remains relevant. Provider compliance does not establish that your own environment and responsibilities have been addressed.

Can we choose the shortest self-assessment questionnaire?

The appropriate SAQ depends on your payment environment and the eligibility conditions for that questionnaire. We review your channels, integrations and provider responsibilities against those conditions, then clarify the validation route with the relevant accepting entity or assessor.

Does Subdux provide QSA or ASV services?

This service covers readiness and remediation support. Any requirement for a Qualified Security Assessor or Approved Scanning Vendor must be met through an appropriately qualified provider and separately scoped.
